EFCC Arrests NBC DG Over N15billion Fraud

According to Premium Times, Emeka Mba, the Director-General of the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

, was picked up in Abuja and taken to the anti-graft agency’s headquarters where he is currently being interrogated.
Sources say EFCC had been investigating the NBC in the past one month, and just last week, some detectives stormed the headquarters of the NBC, and ransacked the computers and files in the Finance and Account unit.
Some arrested officials of the NBC who were taken away after the ransacking, implicated their boss during in their confession to the EFCC.
Wilson Uwujaren, the EFCC spokesperson, could not confirm the arrest, when contacted, but a top official of EFCC said: “Yes, he (Mr. Mba) is with us. We are investigating massive diversion of public funds and we’re making progress. Mba definitely has questions to answer.”
Report emanated last week also, that the director of finance of the commission, Patrick Areh evaded arrest last week when the operatives of EFCC were said to have stormed the NBC in a bid to arrest him and other senior officials, but they were disappointed as they met their absence.
